Writer Sherma Benosa is pre-selling copies of her children’s book in the hope of raising enough money to fund its printing. The book is entitled “Agdan.”
A P100 will entitle takers two printed copies. (Of course, one may choose to give more than P100). Based on the quotations I’ve got, the book will have to be priced at least P70/copy in order na may konting pumasok. But since you will be helping me print it, I may be able to print more copies, and hence lower the price per piece. That’s why, pre-selling price is cheaper.
The book will be initially released in two versions: Ilocano and Tagalog.
Your risk: Konti lang. Siempre, you are buying something na di mo pa nakikita. But in the unlikely event na di siya ma-print, you’ll get your money back.
Target Release Date: April 18

Sherma E. Benosa is a two-time Palanca awardee (Short Story-Ilocano: first prize, 2010; third place, 2012). She is one of the 14 authors whose collection of short stories was published by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Ateneo Institute of Literary Arts and Practices (AILAP) in 2010 under the NCCA Ubod New Authors Project. She is a grantee of the 2013 National Book Development Board Fund for Ilocano Novel. She has written two stories for children in Ilocano: Ania Manilenya ken ni Balong Promdi and Ti Sarukod ni Raya (Raya’s Wand), second and first prize winners in the Cabie-PINILI contest for short story for children in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Agdan will be her first self-published story.
